The Guadalajara International Film Festival is a cultural event of great relevance for Guadalajara and Mexico. It is considered as one of the most important showcases for the appreciation, promotion and distribution of Mexican and Ibero-American films.

- Best Mexican Film: $500,000.00 Mexican Pesos awarded to the director.
- Audience Award: $100,000.00 Mexican Pesos awarded to the director.
Ibero-American Narrative Film Awards
- Best Film: $250,000.00 Mexican Pesos awarded to the main production company.
- Special Jury Prize: $125,000.00 Mexican Pesos awarded to the main production company
- Best Director: $150,000.00 Mexican Pesos awarded to the director.
- Best First Feature: $125,000.00 Mexican Pesos awarded to the director.
Ibero-American Documentary Awards:
- Best Documentary: $150,000.00 Mexican Pesos awarded to the director.
- Special Jury Prize: $100,000.00 Mexican Pesos awarded to the director.
Ibero-American Short Film Awards:
- Best Short Film: $75,000.00 Mexican Pesos awarded to the director.
Rigo Mora Award to the best Mexican animation short film from the Ibero-American Short Film section.
Best Mexican Animation Short Film: $100,000.00 Mexican Pesos awarded to the director.

Competition programme:
- Films of Ibero-American filmmakers and producers.
- Films completed in 2022/2023
Out of competition
- FICG also has sections with the focus on music, environmental, films for kids, tributes and international panoramas representing the film production from certain countries. The films produced outside Ibero-America may register to participate in these sections.
- Culinary Cinema. Through this call for entries may be submitted films wishing to be a part of the culinary cinema section, which will select films that describe a part of the alimentary production chain or showing an important gastronomic culture.
