Cinema Verde’s mission is to provide environmental education to the public through film, arts, workshops, events, tours and any other forum or media; to increase public awareness of environmental practices that enhance public health and improve quality of life in urban, suburban and rural settings. We bring community organizations, businesses and citizens together to help forge sustainable solutions for our future. We utilize a multi-disciplinary program of film, music, art, workshops, an eco-fair and eco-tours to connect participants with green initiatives in business, government and organizations seeking to solve environmental problems. Our vision is to expand the reach of environmental information to inspire, educate and engage participants in sustainable business and lifestyle solutions.
Our festival drew more than 3,000 participants in its third year with screenings of an international array of 25 professional films plus 15 student submissions. We engaged local government, sustainable businesses, environmental organizations, visitors and the community with parties, an eco-art show, eco-tours and an eco-fair.
